Marketing Uses For Calendars
Monday, August 22nd, 2011Calendars have been around for a very long time, almost from the very beginning but certainly from Roman times. I mean really, who doesn’t need to know what day of the week it is.
Calendars make great gifts and everyone has their favorite kind of calendar. You can use family photos to create your calendar and even match your photos to the seasons of the year. I know a woman who created a calendar from her favorite pictures of her children and gave it to all her relatives as a gift. It was so adorable. You could also choose your favorite photos of yourself and give that calendar to your significant other. This way they could see your face anytime they wanted to. Cheesy, but effective. If you are an amateur photographer, you could choose the favorite of the photos you’ve taken and make a calendar out of those, I’ll bet that would be the favorite calendar you’ve ever had. It’s always better to choose things that appeal to you. It wouldn’t be much fun to make a calendar of your monthly bills to remind you to pay them, but there are many things to make a calendar from and I am sure you will think of something.
Calendars come in all shapes and sizes, from pocket sizes to large poster sizes. I always keep one in my purse; believe it or not, I use it all the time. One of my favorite calendars is a desk calendar. What could be better? It shows the days of the week clearly and all the holidays and it allows you to write on it. I will tell you that there were times I would never have made it anywhere on the right day without my desk calendar. I worked with a woman once who would not write on her desk calendar, she thought it was just too messy. Seemed like a real waste of a desk calendar to me.
There are also calendars created on white boards. I can see where that could be very helpful in an office full of sales people. If you had a white board and could write where each person needed to concentrate their efforts on each specific day, this could be a great help.
Because calendars have been around for such a long time, I think maybe the cave men had their type of calendar, just made of stone instead of paper. We all need to know what day it is.
The creation of the calendar was genius and I could not find anywhere to find it’s creator so I could give them credit, it was genius and I am so glad that whoever it was thought it up. You never know who is going to have a great idea, but the calendar really was a great idea and continues to be. We all use one every day and count on there being one wherever we are. If I look at my calendar once in a day, I look at it ten times. A genius idea!
