Search Engine Optimization-- (SEO, Organic)--activities designed to help your website to rank highly in the search engine organic listings, so your traffic will increase.

-----------

I'm sure you've seen pages like this thousands of times, but, just as a refresher, this screen shot illustrates the difference between PPC search results and Organic search results:

Listings in the "middle" of the page are Organic listings. That means that Google has determined that these pages are highly relevant for the keyword phrase you entered as your search query. These listings receive a significant share of the clicks which result from Google searches. The higher your site ranks, the more visitors your site will receive.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)--deals with your website's rankings in the Organic Search Results. When you do a Google search for terms which should relate to your business, does your website show up on the first page? If it does, then that's great. If not, you're losing out on a tremendous amount of potential traffic.

1. Comprehensive Keyword Research
One of the first things you need to consider in any SEO program is "what keywords make the most sense for my business". After all, it doesn't do you much good to rank for "football helmets" if you're in the motorcycle helmet business. That's why our first step is comprehensive keyword research. Here's a snapshot of a portion of one of our research pages:

Yes, we know you can't see the individual keywords. Our work is proprietary for each customer so we are not allowed to show the specifics of our research. But, know this . . . We are very thorough. Often we'll look at thousands of keyword options before narrowing the field to a few hundred. We want to make sure that when we target a certain keyword or group of keywords that they'll have the best possible chance of generating traffic for you.

2. Competitor Analysis
Once we decide on which keyword phrases you want to optimize for, we'll take a look at who is competing with you for those keyphrases. We'll analyze their sites, their back links, their traffic patterns and compare them to yours. You'll know why they're outranking you and you'll know just what to do to outrank them! Here's a peek at one a portion of our competitive analysis:

3. SEO Market Study
How much traffic can your market niche generate for your web site? Good question. If you're a roofing contractor in Tampa, FL wouldn't you like to know how many people in Tampa are searching for your list of primary keywords? Of course you would. That would give you an idea of how much potential traffic you can capture and give you something to shoot for in your quest to dominate the market with your website. Well, we can tell you what those numbers are. Your SEO market study will give you a comprehensive glimpse into your target area whether it's local, regional, national or even international. We can give you a clear picture of the level of search activity for your primary keyword phrases.

4. Web Site Analysis
We'll do a page by page analysis of the principle pages of your site and tell you everything you need to change on your site in order to improve your search engine rankings. We consider the following items in our analysis:

• Site structure
• Navigation
• Internal linking structure
• Website copy
• Use of keywords
• Meta tags
• Alt tags
• Proper coding
• Page layout
• And much more!

Our analysis will contain a written summary of our findings on each page as well as SEO optimized meta tags (yes, we'll write them for you!)

5. Link Building
This is probably the most important, and most time consuming portion of any SEO effort. Links on other sites that point to yours are called "backlinks". Google considers these backlinks like "votes" for your website. The power of backlinks is easily demonstrated by doing a Google search for the term "click here". You will find the Adobe Acrobat Reader download site as number one for that term.

Why? Because there are millions of websites with documents to share that rely on Adobe Acrobat Reader. You've probably seen this exact sentence hundreds of times:

"In order to open this document you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader. It's a free download. If you don't have it already click here to download it now."

Google sees the millions of backlinks and the clickable text (called anchor text) which actually points back to the site and concludes that the Adobe Acrobat Reader download page must be important for the term "click here".

We take advantage of that principle and create links in blogs, forums, article directories, and other relevant sites which point back to your website.

News Flash--Google Updates Search Algorithm!!

So, what do you do now?

The most recent changes to the Google algorithm have resulted in much more attention being given to the "link profile" of your site--in other words--how have you managed the clickable terms on the links that point to you. If you are "over optimized" Google will slap your site and knock you off the first page . . .

That means your link building program must be carefully managed to keep your
link profile within the tolerances that Google likes!

We will monitor and manage your link profile for you to make sure you get all of the
advantages possible out of your link building effort.

This is a quick summary of what is involved in implementing our SEO program. We use only proven and ethical techniques. There is no "black-hat" trickery in any of our methods. The tricky stuff others use might work for a while, but sooner or later the search engines will catch on to your tricks and you'll find yourself worse off than before you started. Best to stick with the proven and accepted methods.
